National Museum of Mathematics: Hours, Prices and Tips
Guía rápida
The National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath), in the Flatiron District, is one of those unexpected New York museums. It's a fantastic little corner of the city that makes math fun.
A visit to MoMath can turn into an inspiring experience for your kids, especially if they need a boost in school or you'd like to nudge them toward the sciences (read up on more things to do if you're traveling with kids).

The goal of the MoMath museum is to help kids and adults alike understand how math illuminates the patterns and structures all around us.
Another of this themed museum's most entertaining missions is to surprise you with mathematical oddities.
It has plenty of interactive exhibits aimed at children and teens, but they'll help us grown-ups refresh what we know and broaden our understanding of math too (or at least warm up to it a little).
As you can see, New York will always surprise you with its endless attractions. There really is something for everyone in the city of Sinatra and Allen.
The Museum of Mathematics shop
The MoMath shop has hundreds of gifts worth taking home. Games, puzzles, books. They're worth every penny.
Plus, when you buy something at the New York Museum of Mathematics shop, you're supporting its educational programs for the city's kids.
It's a museum focused on education, and it does the job well: it makes math fun for kids, and it makes the rest of us think about how useful a visit like this would have been back in the day. I might not be writing this guide for you, I'd be programming it 🤣.
