Hotels with Pool in NYC: 5 Affordable Picks
Hotels with Pool in NYC: 5 Affordable Picks
Guía rápida
Planning a summer trip to New York? If so, try to stay at one of these hotels with a pool in Manhattan or Brooklyn:
📍West Side YMCA, ideal for swimming.
📍Margaritaville Resort in Midtown if you want more comfort.
📍The William Vale in Brooklyn, with knockout views of Manhattan.
📍Arlo Williamsburg, with a rooftop pool and sweeping views.
📍Gansevoort Meatpacking, with a pool that's open year-round.
Summer in New York officially starts on June 21, and that month temperatures are still bearable. But during July in New York or August, the thermometer can climb so high (and the humidity right along with it) that having a pool waiting for you really does make a difference.
To make your search easier, here's my list of 5 hotels with pools in NYC that are good, central, and reasonably priced. One thing though: book as early as you can, because prices climb as the date gets closer.
1. West Side YMCA

The West Side YMCA is the cheapest place to stay on this list of New York hotels with pools. The amenities are basic, but trust me, the location is fantastic: right in the Upper West Side, next to Central Park. Another nice detail is that it occupies an elegant historic Gothic building.
This hostel belongs to the YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association), a nonprofit that promotes the physical, mental, and spiritual development of the communities where it operates.
In New York it's known for its good gyms and for offering lodging. And the best part of sleeping at a YMCA hostel, beyond the modest prices, is that you can use all the sports facilities, including the semi-Olympic pool!
Keep in mind that it's not a recreational pool. It's meant for lap swimming during set hours. If you're into sports, it's a terrific option: just check the pool schedule when you arrive and plan around it.
The private rooms at the West Side YMCA are tiny and very basic, and the bathrooms are shared. But it's genuinely worth sleeping at this New York YMCA location for the incredible spot and prices you won't find anywhere else.
On my own trips, when I decide to stay in Manhattan in summer, I usually go with the YMCA, since it's easily one of the cheapest hotels in high season and there's that bonus pool. Do the math and you'll see.
At this link you'll find more information and can check availability (and hurry, because it sells out fast, the location is just too good).
2. Margaritaville Resort Times Square

If you want to stay in central Manhattan, the Margaritaville Resort Times Square is perfect. This 4-star hotel is steps from iconic Bryant Park and, obviously, costs a lot more than the YMCA given everything it offers.
This is a hotel with a pool where you actually enjoy your stay, not just a place to crash. You can unwind at the rooftop bar or the poolside restaurant.
Guests consistently praise how clean the property is, how comfortable the beds are, and the stunning city views from some of the rooms.
Well connected and right in Midtown Manhattan, it's close to Times Square, Grand Central Station, and the Summit observation deck, the one everyone is talking about.
Check availability and prices at the Margaritaville Resort. Rates run a bit lower than other hotels in its class.
3. The William Vale in Brooklyn

I always say there's a lot of New York outside Manhattan. If you want to see for yourself, I promise you'll love summer at the William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg, one of Brooklyn's most interesting neighborhoods and well connected to the rest of the city thanks to two nearby subway stations.
This Brooklyn hotel has a rooftop pool where you can cool off while taking in impressive views of Manhattan.
All the rooms also have floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views and outdoor balconies, something you rarely find in New York hotels.
If you're after something even more special, the William Vale also has rooms with a jacuzzi (see other hotels with jacuzzis in New York).
And if you're traveling with pets, the William Vale is pet friendly, with no extra fee for bringing your furry companions.
4. Arlo Williamsburg

The Arlo Williamsburg Hotel is also in Williamsburg, the north Brooklyn neighborhood travelers love, surrounded by shops, plenty of bars and places to eat, and just one subway stop from the East Village in Manhattan.
The rooms at Arlo Williamsburg are solid, with standout city views through 10-foot windows.
It has an outdoor rooftop pool, perfect for cooling off during summer in New York, plus other services like bike rentals.
Guest reviews highlight the excellent location of the Arlo Hotel in Williamsburg and how comfortable the rooms are. Some people do mention small hiccups with room service, but overall the experience is positive and the prices are very competitive for a spot in Williamsburg facing Manhattan.
5. Hotel Gansevoort in the Meatpacking District

The Hotel Gansevoort is famous for its rooftop lounge, perfect for cocktails and entertainment with panoramic views of Manhattan.
It also has a heated pool on the terrace that stays open all year, not just in summer. The rooms are spacious and some have a balcony with city views.
Most guests rave about its prime location, just steps from the Whitney Museum of American Art, the High Line and Little Island, the one-of-a-kind park floating over the Hudson River.
If you have a bit more room in your budget, take a look at hotels in the Meatpacking District like the Gansevoort and the spectacular Standard Hotel (it sits right above the High Line, but there is no pool).

After going through these hotels with pools in New York, one thing is clear: they will take your summer in the Big Apple to another level. This is the kind of trip you do not forget.
So go ahead and pack the swimsuit, trunks, bikini, whatever you call it. Just bring it 👙.
